OUR PASTOR

As the proud daughter of the late Rev. William James Hooker, Jr., and Doris Deloris (Walker) Hooker, Rev. Hooker was born in New Britain, attended local schools and received her Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and 6th Year (Ed. Specialist) degrees from Central Connecticut State University. She is Certified in Gifted Education and Completed the Georgia Superintendent Professional Development Program She worked in the field of business for over 14 years and subsequently embarked on the field of education as a second career: where she achieved notable success in the area of student achievement in Hartford Public Schools; Coweta County, GA; Troup County GA, Georgia's Leadership Institute for School Improvement-Atlanta, The GA (State) Professional Standards Commission, GA Dept. of Education and Bibb County Schools, Macon, GA.

 

 She is currently the proud pastor of Smith Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Anniston, Alabama, where her brother Rev. Craig Hooker,  formerly pastored for several years -  while holding the positions of District Director of Church Growth and Development, Conference Trustee, District Musician and Dir. Missions Education WHOMS. On December 8, 2018, she was assigned as Supply Pastor of Smith Metropolitan AME Zion Church and in 2019 given a full appointment as Pastor at the 153rd Session, of the Alabama Conference
